Longtown Outdoor Learning Trust is the charitable business running the Longtown Outdoor Centre, providing adventurous outdoor activities for young people through residential stays and day sessions. I am currently the Chair of Trustees – (www.longtownoutdoorlearning.co.uk).
The Trust was established in 2018 to successfully take over responsibility of the Outdoor Centre that was previously owned and operated by Northamptonshire County Council. We did this alongside The Wilson Foundation (a Northamptonshire based Youth Development Charity) who now own the property and land, whilst Longtown Outdoor Learning Trust is responsible for managing the centre, the running of the business and delivering of activities.
As Chair of Trustees I helped setup the charity and now work with the board of trustees and staff to lead and facilitate discussion and decision making, as well as support the Centre Director to establish and manage the charity, develop and grow the business, and manage the impact of the current pandemic.
I have also worked in a freelance capacity to develop the website, with course and accommodation booking systems, as well as led wellbeing and nature connection sessions for the team.
